About this opportunity

The Divemaster & Marine Biology Training Program Our program combines SCUBA Dive Master training with marine biology theory to give candidates a better understanding of the ocean. After finishing the program, candidates can work as SCUBA professionals or pursue a career in Marine Science and conservation. The program includes 11 classes on various marine science topics and practical training in dive sites in Nusa Penida, which is a Marine Protected Area with diverse marine life, such as turtles, manta rays, sharks, and Mola-Mola. The training includes an introduction to basic marine ecology, Coral Reefs and Transect Methodology, and scientific diving standards. Duration : 6 weeks (certified diver) + 2 weeks optional warm up (special rate package tailor made based on diver experience) Around 12 weeks (non-certified diver), duration would be adapted depending on your certified level. Classes Dates : 20 March – 30 April (17 – 30 Apr. 2 weeks marine bio) 22 May – 2 July (19 jun – 2 jul 2 weeks marine bio) 14 Sept – 25 Oct ( 12 – 25 oct 2 weeks marine bio) 9 Nov – 20 Dec ( 7 – 20 dec 2 weeks marine bio) *The dates can be change depend on important situation Detail of The Program : Learn from our Marine Scientist – through participating in lectures, assigned reading, as well as practical applications in data collection. Become a confident PADI Dive Master – learn how to plan dive trips and guide certified divers on our beautiful underwater sites. Assist courses – from Discover Scuba to Rescue Diver training, learn to assist an Instructor and take care of student divers, improve your own dive skills and learn about the daily functioning of a professionally managed dive center. SGS Government Solutions is seeking a Master Diver \ Diver First Class to support operations at an RQS in Portland, OR. The candidate shall research available and emerging technologies and work with the customer diving program manager to identify areas where technology advances in diving and maritime operations can benefit the customer. Specifically, the candidate should look for solutions to technology gaps, resource protection, and enhanced equipment training methodology that will save training time, funding, or enhance combat survivability of operators during water operations. Technical: The candidate shall assist the customer by providing technical experience in the operation and maintenance of assigned diving equipment, boats, and outboard motors, and operate boats during unit dive operations at the discretion of the customer. In addition, candidate dive locker candidates shall support development of waterborne operations procedures designed to enhance the combat readiness and collective skills of customer operator personnel.

Specifically, the candidate should look for solutions to technology gaps, resource protection, and enhanced equipment training methodology that will save training time, funding, or enhance combat survivability of operators during water operations. Technical: The candidate shall assist the customer by providing technical experience in the operation and maintenance of assigned diving equipment, boats, and outboard motors, and operate boats during unit dive operations at the discretion of the customer. In addition, candidate dive locker candidates shall support development of waterborne operations procedures designed to enhance the combat readiness and collective skills of customer operator personnel. This position is replacing a Master Diver who's looking to retire but would like to cross train / data dump to the incoming Master Diver which shouldn't take more than 1 week.
